Lodi Garden Club volunteers meet twice a month during the rose growing season to prune and care for the rose garden at Micke Grove Park.

Fall at the Rose Garden
The Micke Grove Rose Garden got some sprucing up the last week of October when Lodi Garden Club members and Micke Grove staff "sheet composted" the garden. Using newspaper or cardboard, the soil (and its weeds) were covered. Next came the horse manure donated by a local boarding stable, Lockewood Stables. Finally, we added a nice bed of mulch. The roses will get nutrition and the weeds wiil be blocked from the sun.
